Adam Adli released on bail with RM5000

Adam Adli, a student activist arrested few days ago has been released on bail of RM5000 today with a guarantor.

He has pleaded not guilty to a charge of uttering seditious words.

Adam Adli was charged under Section 4(1)(b), which is punishable under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act 1948.

His lawyer, Datuk S. Ambiga asked the court to release him because Adam Adli has also been remanded for five days, which was completely unnecessary in view of his charge.

Before this, Adam Adli has been suspended from the University of Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI). But after this, Adam was expected to continue with his studies at UPSI in the coming September 2013.

Outside the court, he the media to take a rest from being a pro-opposition activist.

“I will not take part in 505 black rally for May 25 in Petaling Jaya. I think I will rest first,” he said
